Medical Disclaimer

Ternary Health is a research firm — not a medical practice. Please read this carefully.

Not a medical provider

Ternary Health does not practice medicine. We do not diagnose conditions, prescribe treatments, order or interpret tests in a clinical capacity, or provide emergency care. We are not a substitute for a licensed physician, physician assistant, nurse practitioner, or other qualified clinician. We are not a HIPAA-covered entity.

Educational and planning-oriented

Our work consists of research synthesis, information integration, and decision-support planning. The materials we produce — case summaries, action plans, literature maps — are educational and planning-oriented. They are intended to be used alongside your own licensed clinicians, not in place of them. Nothing on this website, including sample reports and condition pages, is medical advice.

Clinical decisions rest with you and your clinicians

All diagnostic and treatment decisions must be made by you in consultation with qualified medical professionals who are responsible for your care. Ternary Health’s work does not override, supersede, or substitute for their clinical judgment. A Ternary Health plan should be brought into your clinical appointments, not acted on in place of them.

Evidence grading and uncertainty

Our reports grade evidence on a published scale (Tier 1 Core, Tier 2 Secondary, Tier 3 Discussion). Tier 2 and Tier 3 items are explicitly presented as options to discuss with your physicians — not recommendations to act on independently. Where the literature is thin or contested, we say so.

Emergencies

If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 (in the United States) or your local emergency number, or go to the nearest emergency department. Do not rely on Ternary Health, our website, or any materials we have produced, for emergency guidance.

No warranty of outcomes

Medical outcomes cannot be guaranteed. Ternary Health makes no representation or warranty that our engagement will result in any specific diagnosis, treatment response, or clinical outcome.

Handling of health-related information

Our handling of information that could be linked to a specific individual and a health condition is described in our Privacy Policy and Security & Data Practices pages. Though we are not a HIPAA-covered entity, we maintain HIPAA-aligned practices because the sensitivity of this information warrants that standard of care.
